Affiliate marketing question - Should you join every affiliate program you can find or just a few? There are many thousands of affiliate programs on the net that you can join. Every man and his dog is running one. But how do you decide which ones to join? There are two trains of thought in this area. First you can take the scatter gun approach, which is quite popular on the net, and join as many programs as possible. This ensures that at least SOME of them will pay off. Well, that's the theory. According to Dean Schmidt, Vice President of the Affinity Program for TR Cutler, Inc., "We had to find a way for manufacturers to rapidly experience ROI from an aggressive PR campaign. 45 press releases in 90 days generates extraordinary traffic to manufacturers' websites and optimizes search engine rankings." Schmidt acknowledged that new website traffic from potential customers often helps to quickly identify missing "call-to-action" messages and results in revised or updated websites. Schmidt also noted, "With almost nine out of ten manufacturers employing less than fifty employees, tight margins, global competitiveness, and enticing spending alternatives, PR is often relegated to the "back burner." Cutler developed the PR Advantage Affinity program for manufacturing associations' members. SECRET of Google Page Speed Analyzer

Google’s fixation on page speed continues with today’s addition of Page Speed, a new analysis tool in Google Labs. The tool analyzes any URL, gives it a grade (on a score of 0-100) and then offers a potentially long list of ways to make the page faster. The suggestions are divided into High, Medium and Low priority. The test, appropriately, runs in a matter of seconds. Search Engine Land has scored an 85 and 84 in the two tests I ran within a couple minutes of each other. Here’s a look at the suggestions provided to us: That’s an analysis of desktop page speed; you can select to also run a mobile speed report. There are also page speed extensions for Firefox and Chrome, as well as other code/instructions for developers on that page. It was just about a year ago that Google announced it was using speed as a ranking factor in its search results.

On HowToGoMo.com , business owners can enter in their current website’s URL to see what the site looks like on mobile. CREAT MOBILE WEBSITE FOR BUSINESS

How do you make your businesses website ready for mobile users? More and more people are starting to access the internet from their mobile phone, and analyst Morgan Stanley estimates that if smartphone sales continue at their current pace, then the number of users accessing the internet on a phone will exceed desktop internet users by 2015. While most smartphones can access the internet the experience they get is less than perfect, as most websites just aren't designed for mobile phones. By creating a mobile-friendly site, you won't just get access to more users: you'll also have a huge leap on your competitors. Before you create a mobile website it's worth looking at why most websites are hard to access and use on a mobile. Sites designed for desktop users are huge. Website size matters Take the TechRadar site as an example, our front page has lots and lots of columns of information, which can be difficult to see and navigate, even on the best i

Creating a mobile-friendly web page with Dreamweaver CS5.5

Acknowledging the rising popularity of smart phones and tablet computers, Adobe has begun to integrate the ability to create mobile content across its entire Creative Suite and Dreamweaver is no exception. One feature, which was introduced in Dreamweaver CS5 and improved in CS5.5, is support for CSS3 Media Queries. Media Queries allow web designers to create style sheets based upon the screen size of the device used to view the page. It’s easier to understand by looking at an example: @import url("tablet.css") only screen and (min-width:321px) and (max-width:768px); For the query above the style sheet, tablet.css will be used only for devices with a screen width between 321 and 768 pixels. Larger and smaller devices will ignore tablet.css. Simply stated, media queries make it possible for a web page to use separate style sheets for phones, tablets and desktops (and even screen sizes in between). My personal preference is to create a single style sheet

Top 10 Way to MAKE WEBSITE TRAFFIC and BLOG TRAFFIC

It's easy to build a blog , but hard to build a successful blog with significant traffic. Over the years, we've grown the Moz blog to nearly a million visits each month and helped lots of other blogs, too. I launched a personal blog late last year and was amazed to see how quickly it gained thousands of visits to each post. There's an art to increasing a blog's traffic, and given that we seem to have stumbled on some of that knowledge, I felt it compulsory to give back by sharing what we've observed.   NOTE: This post replaces a popular one I wrote on the same topic in 2009. This post is intended to be useful to all forms of bloggers - independent folks, those seeking to monetize, and marketing professionals working an in-house blog from tiny startups to huge companies. Not all of the tactics will work for everyone, but at least some of these should be applicable and useful. #1 - Target Your Content to an Audience Likely to Sha
